Collaborative Research
As a part of training young scientists, we will organize summer schools that will focus on practical skills designed for instrumentation development and operation. Our approach will also demonstrate how astronomy is not only interesting, but also critical for both, technological and scientific development.
We will conduct a synergetic study of dust polarization using the modern theory of grain alignment and disruption, computational modeling, and observational data analysis. Our ultimate goal is to understand the effect of magnetic fields on star formation and the effect of stellar feedback on the circumstellar and interstellar medium.
This program supports research conducted by visiting astronomers and by student interns, and the SAGI seminar series. We will offer the annual SAGI Research Internship to college students (applications start in the spring, research starts in the summer).
Postdoctoral Fellowship
Public Outreach
SAGI Internship
We offer the relatively generous package which includes competitive stipend, domestic and international travel, and health insurance for our candidates. The postdoctoral fellows will be living and conducting their research daily on the beautiful ICISE campus.
This program aims to introduce to the public at large about SAGI, and to educate the public about the needs of astrophysical research. This will be done through public colloquiums given by key members and our visitors, and
through newspapers by scientific writers.
We are looking for excellent candidates who are current students of the Bachelor, Master, PhD programs in related fields such as physics, engineering, mathematics, computer sciences at Vietnamese and foreign universities. Students can choose any topics that are aligned to the research direction of SAGI and under supervision of SAGI researchers.
