Webinar:

Single crystal growth and characterization of scintillation materials for radiation detection in various fields

Date/time: Jan. 6th, 2021, 9:30-11:30 GMT+7 (VN timezone)

Phan Q. Vuong Dr. Phan Quoc Vuong, Kyungpook National Univ., Korea

Abstract: Scintillator is a key component in many scientific instruments which are widely used for nuclear physics, high energy physics, space exploration, medical imaging, radiation monitoring, and well logging etc. I will describe several common techniques for the crystal growth of inorganic materials. Some successfully grown crystals at KNU by the Bridgman method and their scintillation properties will be presented. I also give an overview of progress in developing inorganic single crystals for 0νββ search with the AMORE experiment.
